Description
This Photodiode Module is designed for detecting ambient light intensity with a digital switching output. Compared to photoresistor (LDR) modules, the photodiode offers better directionality, allowing it to detect light from a specific direction, making it ideal for precision light detection tasks.
The module features a digital output (DO) that toggles between HIGH and LOW based on the brightness threshold set using an onboard potentiometer. When the ambient light is below the set threshold, the DO pin outputs HIGH. When the light exceeds the threshold, it outputs LOW.
It uses a comparator (LM393) to ensure stable signal output, and the DO pin can be directly connected to a microcontroller (like Arduino, ESP32) or to a 5V relay module to create light-activated switching systems.
