Description
The PC817 optocoupler (photocoupler) is an essential IC used to provide electrical isolation between two circuits using light transmission. It contains an infrared (IR) LED and a phototransistor, allowing signals to pass through safely without direct electrical connection.
When the internal IR LED is powered, it emits light that activates the phototransistor, enabling signal transfer while protecting sensitive components from noise, voltage spikes, and interference.
This makes the PC817 ideal for Arduino projects, power supplies, microcontroller circuits, and industrial control systems.
